Thanks to dramatic advances in medicine, many
more patients are now surviving cancer and leading fuller lives.
At Commonwealth Hematology-Oncology, our growing staff--comprised
of medical and radiation oncologists, oncology nurses and lab
technicians--works closely with medical and surgical specialists
to provide outstanding medical care. We are also committed to
providing compassionate care and support services to meet our
patients' unique personal needs.
Building on our experience that spans more
than 20 years, we have recently joined with other practices to
form the largest cancer care network in the community. Our shared
vision is to offer the highest-quality service in the most cost-effective
manner: Our objective is to become the largest and most comprehensive
community-based cancer care network in Massachusetts.
As we continue to grow and maximize resources,
we will remain dedicated to our mission...to a blend of technology
and humanity, and to superior care that's close to home.

biological therapy. In addition, we work with academic medical
centers involved with experimental treatment protocols.
As part of our ongoing effort to improve quality and contain costs, we
recently developed our own practice guidelines for breast, colon, rectal,

for additional cancers and hematologic diseases are now being developed.
We have also instituted leading-edge software to monitor chemotherapy

A FOCUS ON COMMUNITY
Our team approach to patient care extends beyond our practice to include primary care physicians, surgeons, and other specialists in local communities and downtown medical centers. In most cases, expert medical care is available
close to home, and we work with our colleagues to keep patients within
the community medical system.
We also strive to involve patients and their referring physicians in decisions
about their treatment options. And we take pride in our ongoing communication,
which is prompt and comprehensive.
Together our common goal is to provide the highest-quality care in
the most cost effective manner.

In this managed care environment, it is becoming more important
to form partnerships and realize economies of scale. As we approach the
next century, we at Commonwealth Hematology-Oncology are proud to take
a leadership role as pioneers in our field.
